2024 ANNUAL NW TRAPPERS CONVENTION – THUNDER BAY
Once again NWOPA participated in the NW Trappers Convention on March 1 & 2 in the CLE Heritage Building in Thunder Bay. The convention promotes education, awareness and management practices of the fur industry and was attended by trappers, hunters, fishermen, and other outdoor enthusiasts from the local area as well as northwestern Ontario. There were many different displays hosted by vendors & businesses and government & associations. Friday was a bit quieter but Saturday proved busier with people venturing over from the Farmer’s Market and Boat Show. Questions at our booth ranged from prospector licences to the rocks and minerals displayed at the table as well as mining and exploration in NW Ontario. The gold covered Easter eggs and tumbled amethyst were also a big hit with both young and old. Thanks are given to NWOPA members Paul and Ella for assisting at this year’s booth.
