Minister’s Mining Act Advisory Committee
The Minister’s Mining Act Advisory Committee (MMAAC) provides a venue whereby industry, and others can interact with MNDM and provide feedback regarding the Mining Act and its many upcoming changes. Meetings are held four to six times a year, usually in Toronto.
MMAAC is a large group, with delegates from MNDM, Ontario Prospectors Association, each of the regional prospecting groups (including NWOPA), Ontario Mining Association, Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, Association of Mining Municipalities of Ontario, Federation of Ontario Cottagers, Metis Nation of Ontario, United Steelworkers Union, Conservation Council of Ontario, Northern Ontario Tourist Outfitters Association and Northwatch and occasionally various First Nation groups.
Each group has two delegates to increase the chances of someone being able to represent the group at each meeting.
We welcome comments and suggestions from our members regarding items of concern they would like us to present to government with regard to land tenure and mining act changes. Please feel free to contact us. We will do our best to represent you.
